INNOVATIVE EDUCATION FOR ACTIVE AGEING

University College of Northern Denmark (UCN) proudly hosted the COHEHRE conference 2012.

The conference was held in april 2012 with the conference theme being 'Innovative Education for Active Ageing'.

The 2012 Annual Conference of Cohehre (the Consortium of Institutes of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation) was hosted 16-20 April by UCN. The conference theme was “Innovative Education for Active Ageing” and the programme included a track for students, teaching staff, as well as deans. The conference attracted more than 170 participants.

The conference was very well organised and UCN has proven to be an expert on the theme as well on hosting a conference. In joint cooperation with the Cohehre Council an interesting programme of key-notes, workshops and parallel sessions was offered.

I was impressed by the efforts of UCN to accommodate us in such a professional and smooth way, with an exciting programme, good food and a very hospitable and helpful team of teachers and students. Another thing that struck me, was the close connection of UCN with the Aalborg region, city and its communities. This was clearly reflected in the in-between-sessions activities and the social programme.

I appreciated very much this conference and want to thank once again UCN for this great perfor-mance. And I look forward to another opportunity to visit UCN and Aalborg.
