UCN Courses and Further Education

Lifelong education is a new concept - in a complex society an educated and updated workforce is necessary. UCN caters for professionals so they may update their education and improve. UCN sees it as a special obligation to offer relevant courses and programmes for professionals in different careers.

UCN organises this work in our division of Courses and Further Education and in Act2Learn, our consultancy house.

UCN covers a great range of professions within both the public and private sector and wants to be up to date with the latest progress in society as a whole.

Our partners and clients include the municipal and regional authorities, unions, private business, public institutions, and other educationsl institutions.

Most of our activities are in Danish, but we aim to offer continuing education also in English soon - we have a public health summer school on the way.

Partners

We want to offer relevant professional upgrading of competences on the highest potential level to as many as possible. This purpose is achieved through partnerships, e.g. municipalities, regional authorities, unions and employers' organisations, and private companies.

Development and Research

UCN cooperates with a number of research environments to ensure that our teaching is always based on the most recent knowledge within the different fields. Our main partner is Aalborg University.

Flexibility and Expertise

Many of our activities address the publi labour market and therefore municipalities and regions are important clients and partners. We meet this challenge by developing continuing education as well as new courses and institutionally based innovation work.

Examples of our clients are schools, town halls, hospitals, unions, and companies.

Act2Learn is our special supplier of competency development in the business sector - specific focus areas are leadership, innovation, and project management.

Activity Overview

Activities cover different fields including pedagogical, health professional, social, managerial, technological, and business courses.

UCN Courses and Further Education has expertise within development of interdisciplinary functions in organisations. We organise conferences around topical themes as well as seminars for different specialists.

Furthermore, we offer consultancy and innovative activities of every kind as well as guidance on competency development and organisational development.

Continuing Education emphasises a high level of professional quality throughout all processes and customer satisfaction. We achieve this through e.g. dialogue and networking with relevant professional settings and customer representatives and through a close cooperation with partners, being other educational institutions and local, regional and central authorities.

The faculty at UCN have academic Master's degrees. The lecturers have professional qualifications as well as pedagogical didactic qualifications. Many of our experts also have PhDs.
