Social Events 

 

During the 20th EASM Conference we will naturally follow the proud traditions of EASM and host an Opening Ceremony, Conference Dinner and Closing Reception. We believe that networking is an essential part of an EASM Conference and therefore we will provide social settings where participants have a chance to network with other delegates on a professional and social level.  

 

 

TUESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 20:00 PM

 

OPENING CEREMONY AT KUNSTEN hosted by the Municipality of Aalborg

KUNSTEN, Museum of Modern Art Aalborg will be the setting for the 20th EASM conference's Opening Ceremony and the Major of Aalborg will give the welcome speech.

 

The Museum was designed by Elissa and Alvar Aalto and Jean-Jacques Baruël, and built between 1968 and 1972. The museum is designed to blend in with its natural surroundings, and like a ziggurat it rises to meet the adjoining hillside. It is situated on the edge of a large area of parks and woodland, and the surrounding vegetation stands in contrast to the precise contours of the building.

 

The permanent collection consists of approximately 1500 paintings, sculptures and mixed media works dating from 1900 to the present day, together with a similar number of works on paper.

 

The Opening Ceremony is included in the conference fee.

WEDNESDAY 19 SEPTEMBER 20:00 PM

 

NETWORKING DINNER AT DUUS VINKJÆLDER

The Networking Dinner will give you the opportunity to meet other delegates and network over a nice meal in Duus Vinkjælder (Wine Cellar).

 

The Wine cellar is found in the cellar arch under one of Aalborg's oldest buildings, Jens Bang's House, which is the finest example of renaissance domestic architecture in Northern Europe, built in 1624 by the wealthy merchant Jens Bang. More information about the Jens Bang's House here.

 

For over 300 years, the building has been the home of Aalborg's oldest pharmacy, and in all that time the house has never been sold. Despite the fact that Jens Bang was Aalborg's wealthiest man, he never became a member of the town government which is the reason why he is sitting at the house end sticking out his tongue at the town hall.

 

Duus Vinkjælder is both restaurant and wine bar where you can enjoy the medieval wine cellar atmosphere for a glass of beer, wine or coffee, or various meals.

 

At the networking evening you will be served a nice buffet with drinks after your own choice.

THURSDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 19:30 PM

  

CONFERENCE DINNER AT HOTEL HVIDE HUS 

The Conference dinner will take place at Restaurant 4 Årstider (Four Seasons) at the Hotel Hvide Hus. The hotel is within walking distance from the city centre.

 

The Hotel is conveniently located in the beautiful setting of Kildeparken (Park) central in Aalborg. With its 16 storeys a magnificent view of the city.

  

The Conference dinner is included in the conference fee.
  

 

FRIDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 14:00 PM - 16:00 PM

 

CLOSING CEREMONY AT UCN Mylius Erichsens Vej 

At the Closing Ceremony lunch will be served and the closing speeches and the traditional handover of the EASM flag to the 2013 organiser will take place before we say goodbye.

 

The Closing Ceremony is included in the conference fee.
