Communicate with your UCN library by SMS or text message!

We have an automatic SMS or text message service that enables you to receive messages or reminders from the library, and you can also send us enquiries and questions direct to the UCN library database.

How to Join the SMS Service

If you want to connect, log into the library database. Find the link ‘Edit information’ under your name and address.
You need to indicate your pin code before adding or editing your mobile phone number.

Automatic SMS from the library

After registration for the SMS service the library will automatically send you a SMS:

• when a reserved material can be collected - with indication of reservation number.
• 3 days before the loaned materials must be handed in.
  (Remember that it is still your responsibility to hand in the material – regardless if you get a reminder or not).
• when the loaned materials has exceed the loan time.

What is the price?

It is free to receive a SMS from the library, but you must pay regular SMS charge when you send a SMS to the library – the answer is naturally free of charge!

Renew loans

You can renew your loans in different ways:

• Renew everything:
  Send a SMS to 21322951 with the text: BIB UCN FORNY ALT
• Renew one material:
  Send a SMS to 21322951 with the text BIB UCN FORNY «material number» (=the barcode of the book) or BIB UCN FORNY «isbn-no.»
• Renew after reminder (after reminder or 1. recall notice)
  Use one of the options mentioned above or follow the instructions in the SMS reminder you have recieved.

Notice: When you renew via SMS you will receive a SMS from the library with the result. Materials can be renewed 10 times, but only if they are not reserved by others.
