Like three pearls on a string

Lønstrup, Løkken and Blokhus and  are three very popular tourist towns each with its own charm and atmosphere. These towns are situated in the northwest part of Northern Jutland.

Lønstrup

14 kilometres west of Hjørring you find Lønstrup. It is a small fishing village that has managed to maintain its authenticity and original charm even though its full of tourists during the summer. The town lies hidden in the dunes and has he finest white beaches where the fishing boats are still dragged up onto the beach.

The town also has many shops, galleries and handicraft workshops and lovely restaurants and cafés to offer its visitors. Just outside the town is Rubjerg Knude, the world’s only lighthouse buried in sandy dunes.

Løkken

16 kilometres south of Lønstrup, you will find the town of Løkken which offers many day and night-time possibilities. In the old charming town centre with the cosy square the guests are enjoying themselves shopping, visiting the sweet factory where they make boiled sweets like in the good old days or diving into mouth-watering menus in various restaurants.

As in Blokhus, the discos are open all night to people who like to party and dance. If you are looking for excitement and action Løkken also has the “Action House” that features bowling, go-carts, laser games, indoor paint-ball, a disco a swimming pool and more.

Blokhus

Blokhus is 38 kilometres from Hjørring and 18 kilometres south of Løkken and lies right on the great North Sea, locally known as Vesterhavet. The town of Blokhus is always worth a visit. In the summer it is filled with people that enjoy themselves in the many restaurants, go shopping or relax on the white sands of the wide beach.

At night the discos are open to young people who want to go dancing. In the winter you can always go for a brisk walk by the sea and watch the wind creating waves in the water. It is certainly with good reason that people of all ages from the surrounding countries visit Blokhus over and over!

Just outside Blokhus you will find Fårup Sommerland amusement park which is quite the tourist attraction for people of all ages. During the open season, you can take a bus from Aalborg straight to the amusement park every day.
