Lecturers open for discussions

We are Vlas Batura and Andriy Kolyesnichenko. We are both from Ukraine and we are in the beginning of the twenties. For the moment we are taking a full degree programme at UCN - University of Northern Denmark on the Computer Science department.

We have been living in Denmark for almost two years. We can say a lot about this country but the main thing that it is quite different from Ukraine.

The flow of life is relatively slow, comparing to our homeland, people are relaxed and take everything easy what ever happens. That is why Danish people are the happiest nation in the World.

Aalborg is a nice city. We like it. There are plenty reasons for that, but the main is UCN - University College of Northern Denmark.

We can’t say about future, but for now we like almost everything about UCN - University College of Northern Denmark. Friendly tutors and personal, style of teaching, working in small teams during the classes, exercises closely connected to the real life.

Our conclusions

For the period staying here we can draw a conclusion already like:

Study process is based mostly on a group work, which is nearly always good for building team-orientation. During lectures the teachers do not only deliver information regarding material, but are also open for discussions.

This is actually one of the most different things from our university in our country, which are like to the cultural differences. In our country we usually used to accept almost everything what teacher said as it is right and cannot be different way.

Here, having your own substantiated opinion and being critical is very important. This is what the teachers really want you to do, not just to learn all the theories like ours teachers did! It is a short list of the main features of the Danish education. It is a perfect environment to get a quality education.

So, we think we have made the right choice.
