A joint location
The Design, Technology & Busines (Graphics) programme shares the location of Sofiendalsvej 60 with other AP Degree and Professional Bachelor programmes, all belonging to UCN - University College of Northern Denmark. This means that we have many young students and a pulse that creates a good atmosphere and energy.
Sofiendalsvej is located in the south west part of Aalborg, close to the City Syd shopping area and surrounded by green spaces. It is also adjacent to the children and youth park with open spaces and plenty of fresh air.
On the adress, all students have access to all departments during opening hours. "Main Street" in the middle of the main building is the centre of many common activities and it offers possibilities for project work and relaxation.
Furthermore, there are many labs, including heavy and low current labs and a photo studio.
There is a single study administration to help you with all you practical matters concerning your studies. There is also the student counsellor's office. The student concellors can guide and advise you in matters regarding completion of your studies, personal matters etc. We also have IT services that helps you in using our networks, programs, printers and more.
Your day to day lifeAs a student on Design, Technology & Business (Graphics) your day to day life will be inspired by our teaching approach which means that sometimes the rooms and hallways will be peaceful and quiet and at other times e.g. before exams there will be a hectic and busy atmosphere. This all ads to a vibrant atmosphere that in some ways resembles the pulsating life in the graphic industry. |
Social life
The social life is strengthened through various activities initiated by the Student Council (De Studerendes Råd or DSR) such as UCN Cups, parties, Christmas and graduation parties and lectures.
We also frequently arrange disciplinary events where students can meet representatives of the business community of Northern Jutland.
Tutors
During the first year of your programme you will be allocated selected tutors who have received tutor training to ensure you a good course of study. You can turn to the tutors with any questions you may have. Learn more about the tutors.
Wall of Fame for people with commitment and passionUCN Technology and Business recognises students and staff who have made a special effort within their field, institution or for their fellow students. These could be people who have used their achieved knowledge and reflection have used their abilities to generate new ideas. Or they could be people who with their personal insight and development have succeeded in creating long lasting relations and collaboration across the organisation and even reahing into the business community.
As part of their acknowledgement, we prepare a text with a photo of these commited, passionate people to be hung on our Wall of Fame noticeboards at each campus. Wall of Fame furthermore reflects ”the whole person”. |
The library
UCN Technology and UCN Business has a joint library at our Porthusgade campus.
There are several ways to borrow books and other items. You are always welcome in Porthusgade 1 to borrow anything you need for your subject, your project, your bachelor’s assignment etc. You can also go to www.ucnlib.dk to order or reserve books to be delivered on the campus where you are studying. Each campus has self-service machines for borrowing and returning items. Read more about the many possibilities at the library.
