International module in Global Health

What is Global Health?

The European Network in Education in Global Health (ENEGH) offers you the opportunity to develop your competences in the urgent and fast developing field of global health.

 

“Global Health is an area for study, research, and practice that places a priority on improving health and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide .”

 

Health professionals can play a key role in making sensible use of welfare technology and communication in Global health, and that calls for developing new competencies and innovative approaches in health professions.
 

Structure and content of the courses

At the 12-week Global Health module students will:

  • work in an international and inter-professional class 
  • cooperate with health organisations, clinical placements, informal institutions a.o.
  • view and learn about Global Health in different perspectives such as intercultural and inter-professional cooperation, ethics, health science, quality, evidence based practice, client centeredness, health promotion, prevention, inequality in health, migration, specific target groups and diseases. 
  • become aware of their own profession in inter-professional and multicultural cooperation

The module runs for the entire 12 weeks from week 6 – 17. Final assessment will be done at the end of the module. When all parts of the module are successfully completed, you will receive a certificate in which you are awarded 18 credits (ECTS).

Who can apply and participate in the module Global Health?

All students signed in at a University or University College, studying Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Midwifery, Radiography, or another health care related study, can apply for the program here or by contacting nib@ucn.dk.

 

General requirements which you must meet before you can register are:

• You must be a 2nd or 3rd year student at the start of the international program Global Health.
• You must be able to follow a discussion, and express yourself in English, as all classes are taught in English.
 

Cost specifics

The module is free of tuition.
Fundraising from Erasmus/Nordplus for transportation and accommodation should be done from home institution. If needed, UCN will assist you in finding accommodation.

Socializing events will be arranged during the course.
