The movement laboratory


The movement laboratory at University College Northern Jutland opens June 2009. The laboratory is situated in the basement in the new building at Selma Lagerlofs Vej 2, 9220 Aalborg SE in a 416 sqm. large room.

 

The movement laboratory offers a range of themes and possibilities in relation to observe and examine movements and functions. In the laboratory you can measure, make experiments, practice, and train, intervene and make research in human movements and functions.

 

The aim of the laboratory is to facilitate the learning and development in relation to the undergraduate physiotherapy education in Aalborg and to support the development of the profession and the education generally in relation to innovation, development, learning and research and evidence based practice.

 

The movement laboratory is a room for educational activities, problem based learning, creative skills development, innovative competency development, research based on a wide range of research philosophical traditions - a room for developmental processes in physiotherapy theory and practice.

 

The movement laboratory consists of one big room that can be sub-divided by flexible doors. The laboratory contains 4 sectors where you can work on theory, practice and research in different physiotherapy topics:

Measurement of reaction power
Sensorymotor stimulation
Exercise therapy
Pedometry
VO2-tests

 

Muscle power testing
Movement analysis
Examination of balance
Mirror neuronal facilitation
Measurement of velocity

 

 

Balance training
Gait analysis
Running analysis
Vestibular training/facilitation
