If your computer breaks down or the IT system reports an error in soft or hardware, then you can ask Andreas Jensen for advice. He holds an AP Degree in IT Network & Electronics Technology and thus he knows everything worth knowing about company IT systems. Andreas has always been into computers, and to him it was natural to enrol to the IT Network & Electronics Technology programme.

During his studies, he was dreaming about becoming an IT supporter, an IT administrator or something similar. Today, he has fully realised that dream. He works as an IT supporter and administrator at Neurodan A/S.

By taking the AP Degree in IT Network & Electronics Technology, he made his hobby his way of life. Now he has found his dream job and is very happy with his choice.

From student job to full-time occupation

To Andreas, the most important thing in his job is feeling that he makes a difference and that he helps the people he is in contact with. He has the overall responsibility for the IT functions of the company. This means that he is in charge of daily operations, making purchases and improvements.

That Andreas is working this job is not a coincidence. Even as a student he was applying for relevant student jobs, and that lead him to an job at Neurodan A/S where he would work approximately 6 hours a week. As his studies were drawing to a close his jobs and areas of responsibilities grew accordingly, and he ended up with the full-time job that he possesses today.

A simple choice

To many people it can be difficult to choose the contents of their future, but to Andreas it was simple.

“I have always been interested in computers and electronics and that is why the IT Network & Electronics Technology programme a natural choice for me. I chose UCN - University College of Northern Denmark because it was important to me that the programme was short while maintaining a high professional standard.”

Furthermore, the choice of UCN - University College of Northern Denmark and this exact programme was also due to the fact that the job descriptions related to the programme were a perfect match for the job functions Andreas could see himself in after graduating.

New knowledge and professional insights

If you ask Andreas what he has learned from his studies the answers are many. He thinks that he has experienced and learnt a lot during his studies. Among other things, he was at the world's largest IT fair, which he describes as "an incredibly exciting experience". Apart from that, he thinks that he has achieved a remarkable insight and skills in his profession.

“I have gained an insight into many professional areas and I got quite a lot of experience in areas that I had only dealt with a few times before." This means that his education has resulted in new knowledge and a professional insight, but also that it has increased his interest in the field.
