Different studying process

Work in UCN is mainly done in groups where we work on group assignments. This is good as it improves our con-fidence and allows us the opportunity to share ideas.

UCN - a modern upgraded learning enviroment

Aalborg - an excellent destination

I had several offers from schools in Denmark, but I chose UCN - University College of Northern Denmark. UCN - University College of Northern Denmark is a modern upgraded and comfortable learning environment for teaching and research which is located in Aalborg. Aalborg is an excellent study abroad destination. Situated in the middle of North Jutland, Denmark, Aalborg is a city worth seeing and you will miss some good experiences if you do not visit this green city by the Limfjord.

This is a city full of life and charm - both day and night. Aalborg is a cosmopolitan university city that is very popular among Danish students and students from all over the world for the high academic standing and up-to-date education, diverse life of entertainment and fun, beautiful nature, history and design.

Friendly students

The students here are very friendly and easy to make relations with. Danish students have their unique style with cute behavior. Especially in my program, we are under the same roof with many nationalities in a multi-cultural context. From this I have chance to evolve in cultural diversities and different thinking perspectives.

Under the good structure of the program, students have firmly developed strong knowledge analytical skills as well as ability for problem-solving and decision-making skills that we are freely to create under tutorial and counseling. In addition, I have obtained international perspective and professional experience of the other instructors both from Denmark and from other countries.

High academic standards

The academic standards at UCN - University College of Northern Denmark are high, and I see the professors as competent. The way we work here is different from China, were we focus more on individual achievements. Here there are much more focus on group work, and I believe this is a great advantage for other student from China, when you later would have to work in teams.

The advantage of going to Denmark is the experience of a new and interesting culture, meet people from different countries and develop a broader view on the world. The stereotype of Danish people is that they are cold and stay by them self, and that they have a narrow mind towards foreigners. This is not my experience at all; Danes is not as cold as you think. They are extravert, broad minded and willing to help.

I work normally with Danes in my school projects. I have been so lucky, because in my major we have small classes. This makes it easy to participate in class discussions, and it also enables the possibilities to get to know your peer students. However this is entirely up to yourself, if you don’t communicate with your peers, you won’t get to know them, either. However, with the focus on group work here at UCN, the possibilities should be there.

After this program, I intend to go back to my country, resume my work in an international company or, perhaps, taking a new challenge. I am not sure because I feel I must take opportunity when I have. But, given what I am learning in this program, I am sure that I will be working in an International Business Environment. With its modern facilities, helpful operating personnel, experienced teaching staff, UCN - University College of Northern Denmark has a big potential to grow into one of the most popular business schools among Danish and international students.
