What do you do when you are at a crossroads in life and want to unite your creative side with your working life profile?
If you ask Bolette Christensen, then you choose further education and try out our strength on the Multimedia Design & Communication programme, which was exactly what she did. Bolette is not afraid to face new challenges
At 39 she already has quite a lot of experience from business life but she wanted more and she missed the ability to connect her hobbies with her working life. That is why she accepted the challenge of further education. Today she has a job that offers a varied everyday life with lots of creative tasks. She works as a sales and marketing assistant at the truck company Rocla Danmark A/S.
Before Bolette started the Multimedia Design & Communication programme, she was on rehabilitation and looking for an interesting opportunity to return to the labour market. She and an advisor agreed that she should be doing something that was related to her creative side and based on her interests. Based on this decision, she chose the Multimedia Design & Communication programme.
Shortly after she graduated, Bolette was contacted by her present work place Rocla Danmark A/S who were interested in finding out more and interviewing her. Despite her scarce knowledge within several of the areas that she now works with, she was hired. “It is hard to get your foot in the door in the multimedia business so I jumped right in and took the challenge.”
Being a sales and marketing assistant, she has wide ranging tasks and assignments. She updates news on websites and records sales and purchases of merchandise. Furthermore, she creates sales ads for printing in papers and magazines and last but not least she is in charge of providing all departments with the latest brochures on trucks and ensuring that they get information regarding any changes in the sales department.
In short, she has plenty of work to do and many tasks that change with every day. Bolette likes her new job and she sees a great connection between the theoretical knowledge that she was presented with on her study programme and the work assignments she has at the moment.
“My choice of further education has helped me go in the direction I wanted to. I am very happy with my job and I am very glad that I dared take the challenge.”
