I chose to study in Denmark because of both personal and professional reasons. I have lived in Denmark for over 2 years now and I just felt that a very good way to practise my Danish is by studying in that language.
I took my chance and I have chosen UCN - University College of Northern Denmark because of the good reputation, but also of the physical placement of the school. Aalborg, where the school is situated, is not only the partner city to my home city - Gdynia, but also the place where I decided to stay for some time for private reasons.
In spite of the fact that the programme I chose - Service, Hospitality & Tourism Management - does not have much in common with my previous education from Poland, it still seemed quite appealing to me as something totally different and new.
It combines tourism field with economical issues surprisingly accurately. Besides, the classes are well conducted with emphasis on practical usage of the attained knowledge.
The educational system at school, as well in the whole country, is group-work oriented, which means that most of exercises and exam projects are done in groups.
As to possibilities of studying in other languages than Danish, I need to say that English programmes are available at most of the schools and universities in the country. My school offers not less than 16 different programmes in English; among them Service, Hospitality & Tourism Management, which is why the school also has an international character.
You can therefore meet people of different background than yours, and that can be an advantage itself. UCN - University College of Northern Denmark in Aalborg makes a very friendly environment to live and study and I would definitely recommend it to all, who wish to study in a foreign country.
