Study environment

- Sport Management

UCN at Lindholm Brygge in Nørresundby, Denmark

Academic as well as social environment

At UCN Technology and UCN Business we believe that a well-balanced mix of academic and social aspects creates the best framework for the study environment at an educational institution. This means that we strive to build an innovative and knowledge-generating environment which is characterised by high academic and social levels.

To live up to this conviction, Sport Management is characterised by many academic and social events such as introductory events, company visits, guest lecturers, study visits, study trips, active sport days and various parties.

In addition to these events we have some features on the Sport Management programme that are a fixed part of the study environment:

Tutors

Student tutors are fellow students who are further ahead in their studies and who have gone through tutor training to qualify them to help new students during the introductory phase of their studies. Thus, these student tutors are among the people who are responsible for answering study related questions and guiding new students to a good start at UCN. Tutors can contribute their own student experience and guide new students on to other helpful people. Learn more about the tutors.

Class representatives

Class representatives are two selected students from each class on the study programme. There is one class representative and one substitute who meet approximately once a month with the Programme Director, a lecturer representative and the Student Advisor to discuss life on the study programme. Each class sends in topics for discussion for the meeting agenda and this is their chance to directly influence, change, affect and develop the programme and the institution in different ways.

Lindholm Brygge

Your student life on this BA degree programme will take place in fantastic surroundings on Limfjorden. The location is easily accessible by car, bike, bus or train and is easy to find. We are only a few minutes’ walking distance from Lindholm Station where busses and trains pass by very often every day. Similarly, there is very easy access from the main roads.

An international environment

Another important aspect of the programme is that Sport Management is one of the UCN study programmes which are taught in Danish as well as English meaning that our students move in an international and multicultural environment.

This environment allows our students to get an insight into other cultures through joint events, which means they can acquire knowledge that can be useful in relation to an international career.

Knowledge, innovation and development

The study environment that surrounds the students of Sport Management is one of the essential elements of generating knowledge, innovation and development. At UCN we strive to create the best possible framework for students who are acquiring knowledge that can be used innovatively to help them develop their skills and competencies academically as well as socially.

In other words, our goals for UCN’s study environment is to create the best possible surroundings for building professional and social relations around good studies, which we consider a sound foundation for the future.

Wall of Fame for people with commitment and passion

UCN Technology and UCN Business recognises students and staff who have made a special effort within their field, institution or for their fellow students. These could be people who have used their achieved knowledge and reflection have used their abilities to generate new ideas.

Or they could be people who with their personal insight and development have succeeded in creating long lasting relations and collaboration across the organisation and even reahing into the business community.

As part of their acknowledgement, we prepare a text with a photo of these commited, passionate people to be hung on our Wall of Fame noticeboards at each campus. Wall of Fame furthermore reflects ”the whole person”.

The library

UCN Technology and UCN Business has a joint library at our Porthusgade campus.

There are several ways to borrow books and other items for your subject, your project, your bachelor’s assignment etc. You are always welcome in Porthusgade 1 to borrow anything you need.

You can also go to www.ucnlib.dk to order or reserve books to be delivered on the campus where you are studying. Each campus has self-service machines for borrowing and returning items.
