I was working as an intern in Barcelona, Spain.
I really enjoyed the time being there within an international atmosphere, flexible working hours and of course in the beautiful Catalonia.
I didn’t have a chance to study Spanish during this period because I was a full-time intern and I did not receive any salary. But in my free time I improved my knowledge, so I was able to communicate on a basic level.
Working at the travel agency Barcelona Vibes was a new experience after my first internship at the front office. It was totally different, my task was taking care of bookings, customer’s requests and liaison with the clients.
I also got a chance to organize trips by myself, to offer clients something which I thought would be suitable for them. I also did sometimes airport transfers from Gerona and Barcelona El Prat international Airports to the client’s hotels and give them the guidelines for their tours for the following days.
So all in all, not only did I learn how to manage bookings, issue bills and register bookings in the system, but I also got a chance to get in contact with our clients for the airport transfers.
I feel this 3 months showed me another part of the hospitality, a completely different one form my first internship.
Thanks to Barcelona Vibes which provided such a good internship – I could take a look how the organized trips are working from the view of the provider, not the customer.
Thank you very much for your support, without your help, this would have never happened.
