Exam fear? The help is near!

- UCN Technology and UCN Business

The good exam

An exam should be a good experience where you can show your abilities, skills and knowledge. A good exam is an exam where you are not too nervous, and you can help create such an exam yourself.

It may be a matter of planning, overcoming bad exam experiences, relaxation techniques and about keeping calm.

But that is easier said than done, especially if you feel that exams are a true nightmare or if you have experienced (or are fearing that you will experience) that your mind goes blank.

We want to help you

That is why UCN has different offers of help for students. You can sit in on a lecture on exam fear, where you will learn about e.g. simple techniques that can turn exam fear into self confidence.

You can also book an individual meeting with a study counsellor who can give you personal guidance.

The purpose of these offers are to give you enough tools to handle your anxiety before it becomes a problem.

Failed - and then what?

There can be many reasons why you fail an exam:

  • Absence from lessons
  • A lack of mental and physical energy
  • Anxiety
  • Personal problems
  • Academic difficulties

The study counsellors may be able to help you get a better exam experience next time round.

The study counsellors offer:

  • Personal guidance
  • Handling exam anxiety and nervousness
  • Advice and guidance on exam techniques
  • Exam planning
