VIP participates in research and developing crossover projects between the different educational programmes in the University College of Northern Denmark, the professional practitioners in the public and the private sector and researchers from universities in Denmark and abroad.
VIP is focusing on the conditions for professional praxis in general and on the possibilities of strengthening the discretion of individuals and groups of professional practitioners, who are nowadays under double pressure from both the political management strategies and demands from consumers in a still growing competition on market conditions.
VIP services a wide range of professions in the region and carries out development projects on for example profession oriented studies for students living far from educational centres and on development of a model which makes it possible for students to begin a study programme without having to decide whether to become teacher in primary, lower or upper secondary school .
