About The Aalborg Network Of Universities
Mission
The Aalborg Network of Universities is an innovative network of universities whose goal is to facilitate and promote cooperation on projects and other activities of mutual benefit.The Aalborg Network is designed to serve as a platform especially for its founding members to foster and support projects as well as by participating in activities and events.
The Aalborg Network members reflect the diversity of higher education systems and values knowledge sharing between the universities who share the network’s ideals – and we prefer to find our project partners among the network’s members.
Associate membership is available to universities outside of Europe.
The Aalborg Network Board (of 7 members) is responsible for network strategies and is assisted by a secretariat located in Aalborg.
The activities of the Aalborg Network are
- Project groups. The network supports and encourages initiatives on specific topics and themes, such as joint programmes, multiple programmes, on topics related to working group activities, and other specific fields. The TAN homepage is central to this.
- Academic mobility. The network supports and encourages academic staff and student mobility between its members by means of other bilateral agreements as well as through the promotion of the events of its members.
- Cooperation in research and knowledge transfer. The network seeks to stimulate and support cooperation between its members in applied research projects and the dissemination of knowledge.
- Academic Cooperation. The network is a platform for interaction and dialogue with other international universities and is providing inspiration and knowledge sharing.
- Cooperation with Industry and Society. The network considers it of major importance that its members cooperate with industry and society and will work to strengthen such relations between members of the group and the community in line with the Lisbon declaration.
