With the ever-increasing demand for Web-enabled data mining, warehousing and management of knowledge, today's organization has to address the multiple facets of process, standards, technology, data mining, and warehousing management. This requires ICT approaches to provide an integrated interchange of quality metadata that enables individuals to access Web content with the most relevant, contemporary data, information, and knowledge that are both content-rich and practical for decision-making situations.
The curricula for Business-ICT students are mostly oriented to a commercial and technical environment. The future ICT professionals should be aware of these new opportunities of ICT in Web environment, with their specific needs and problems. The profession of an IT professional is changing from a technical expert to a more technical-functional expert.
The main objective of the IP is to confront students with the difficulties of aligning Business(functional) and ICT (technical) in the field of Web Mining.
