About the programme

The 2-year full-time AP Degree in IT Network and Electronics Technology qualifies the candidate for a professional position as manager of or participant in projects related to product development, planning, and the operation of systems in the fields of computer technology and electronics in the private as well as the public sector.

The programme gives you 120 ECTS points. It is based on research into the demands of the IT sector for staff with international competences in the area of IT network and electronics development.

Besides enthusiasm for working with computers and electronics, the programme also gives you a thorough insight into subjects such as:

• development and construction of electronics

• sale and technical support within IT and electronics

• planning and management within production techniques and tests

• purchasing of IT and electronics

• environment

• advisory and consulting services within the IT sector

The AP degree in IT Technology provides you with a strong profile to work in a lot of different profession regarding computers and electronics, for example:

• Electronics developer

• IT consultant

• Commercial purchase and sales

• Network manager

Programme structure

The IT and Electronics Engineer education takes two years to complete and is divided into four semesters. You can choose to specialize within either electronics or IT networks. The programme consists of compulsory subjects and specialized subjects.

The compulsory subjects (75 %) fall within four parts:

General subjects: linguistic communication, technical documentation, technical mathematics, information technology, computer and electronics

Business subjects: commercial purchase and sales, business economics, business organization, project management, environment and safety, quality

Technology subjects for the student specializing in IT network: transmission media, communications systems, network systems, network hardware, database systems and programming.

Technology subjects for the student specializing electronics: electronics, product maturing, test equipment, programme development, and networks

The specialized subjects (25 %) consist of two part:

• Internship in a company in Denmark or abroad

• Final examination project

The programme is completed with a project on a chosen issue. A written report is to be produced and assessed after an oral presentation. The project is to substantiate that the student, on an analytical and methodical basis, can handle a complex issue of a concrete nature and of central relevance to the content and aims of the programme. The final project can be made in co-operation with a company.

To obtain a BA degree

With and AP Degree in IT Network and Electronics Technology you have various possibilities to obtain further academic studies: Graduates can obtain a BA degree in Software Development if they undertake another 1.5 years of top-up studies within this field at UCN, Technology & Business.

Graduates can also continue their top-up studies 1.5 years at other universities in Denmark or abroad.
